Shad & Skratch Bastid Drop "The Spring Up" EP

After having dropped the tracks "Peace" and "Homie" in recent weeks, Shad and Skratch Bastid have revealed the full 5-song EP, "The Spring Up" exclusively with our friends at PIGEONS & PLANES.
You can download the EP for free from Shad's BANDCAMP.
Of the EP, the pair released a joint statement reading, "The Spring Up is the result of fortunate timing, grapefruit Perrier, a shared high school obsession with Outkast's Aquemeni, and a couple of sessions at Skratch Bastid's Toronto studio this April. The 5 track collection marks a moment in time for the pair; embodying the spirit of Spring and also serving as a sort of prelude to Shad's upcoming full-length, to which Skratch Bastid also contributes. The collection features a production assist from DJ Jazzy Jeff, and a turn on the mic from compatriot Cadence Weapon."

MMVA Nominations were announced today and we're proud to have 5! Leading the way is Classified with four nominations for the "Inner Ninja" video (above), including:
-Video of the Year
-Hip Hop Video of the Year
-MuchFACT Video of the Year
-UR Fave Video of the Year.
Also nominated in the Hip Hop Video of the Year category is our very own SonReal & Rich Kidd for "Hometown" (below). Big day, thanks to MuchMusic for their support, and congrats to all the nominees. There might be some more exciting MMVA news coming your way soon so stay tuned.

Shad Announces "The Spring Up" EP Collaboration w/Skratch Bastid

Shad has dropped a second track from what is being called "The Spring Up" EP, a collaborative project with the almighty Skratch Bastid. "Homie" features Cadence Weapon, and can be streamed exclusively now at EXCLAIM.
The EP will be dropped digitally in the coming weeks as a precursor to "Flying Colours", Shad's 4th full length due out later this year. Stay tuned for more info.
